The renovation of 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor at Queens Medical Center added 24 patient rooms, two nursing stations and an ADA bariatric room with patient lifts, improving upon the existing level of patient care. Previously, the space was being used for administrative offices and storage before being transformed into a medical, surgical bed unit. The newly designed single-bed rooms have adjoining restroom configurations enlarged to improve the patient experience.
