PROJECT INFO
Located on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawai‘i, the iconic Kona Village Resort will once again open its doors and welcome back guest to the historic destination in 2022. Spanning 81 acres of stunning landscape, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort will be the only 6-star resort in the world, drawing inspiration from the history of the site, local culture and natural elements. Located less than 10 miles north of the Kona International Airport, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort will debut 150 unique, standalone guest hales with locally-inspired décor and a privileged sense of seclusion. An array of distinct dining venues, including the original resort’s beloved Shipwreck Bar and Talk Story Bar, will offer elevated yet relaxed experiences. The resort will also offer an array of new amenities including Sense, A Rosewood Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, as well as multiple pools. Pan-Pacific’s scope consists of plumbing and fire protection for 106 rental suites, a chilled water facility, employee village, sewage treatment plant, as well as the Ship Wreck Bar and multiple service buildings. Challenges arose in construction with the proximity to the ocean as many of the trenches filled with water at high tide leaving live fish in working areas.
