Regional Medical Center San Jose is embarking on an 18-month expansion and renovation project to improve its Emergency Department, which treats nearly 62,000 patients each year from the Santa Clara and surrounding counties. Pan-Pacific will be constructing the first floor Emergency Department including upgrades to the exisiting ED in building #4. Additionally, renovations for Respiratory Therapy, an Emergency Lounge, and offices throughroughout the exisiting hospital. The new, 4-story tower will add over 4,500 square feet, an additional 81 private beds, more private treatment rooms, and state-of-the-art equipment to allow for even better and more efficient care. RMCSJ is a designated Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Cardiac Center, with an on-campus helipad equipped to handle the largest medical evacuation aircraft. When it’s complete, Regional will have the largest trauma center in the county. The hospital will remain open throughout construction without disrupting patient care.
